East Kamloops Services

Supporting East Kamloops businesses through advocacy, marketing, beautification, and community safety initiatives across our corridors.

CLEAN TEAM

The Clean Team is a service that is provided to East Kamloops businesses. The team services primary commercial areas Monday - Friday. Additionally, if there is graffiti, garbage, debris or other cleaning requirements at your property, call or email our office to request a service. We will keep you updated on dispatch times. The Clean Team is made up of people in our community who are facing barriers to employment, are in housing, or are on a recovery journey. This program lifts these individuals up in their journey to long-term health, while also assisting the business community.

GRANT AND FUNDING SUPPORT

From time to time the BIA may open intake for grants related to safety, placemaking, events or otherwise. Stay tuned for more or reach out if you have questions contact@ekbia.com

MARKETING SUPPORT

From digital to in-district promotional opportunities, we offer comprehensive marketing support to increase awareness, strengthen your presence, and connect your business to the community.

Beyond these services the East Kamloops BIA supports businesses in the Valleyview, Dallas and Campbell Creek area. The East Kamloops BIA is governed by it’s members—businesses and property owners. The volunteer Board of Directors oversees the Executive Director who works with all levels of government to meet the needs of the area. Because your BIA is controlled by you and your business neighbours, it will reflect your priorities.
The scope of work that we can address is broad, but here’s a snapshot:

ADVOCACY

The BIA regularly meets with elected officials and city staff to endorse, take action and inform policies and programs that benefit EKBIA members.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Staff and Board will represent the needs of East Kamloops businesses and endorse programs that make it more fulfilling to live, work and play in the area. The East Kamloops BIA was recently part of the advisory group for KamPlan revisions.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

MEMBER BENEFITS

Being a member is automatic if you’re a business within this area - and in a class 5/6 commercial properties. If you’d like to connect as an affiliate member if you’re outside of this district or have a work from home business in East Kamloops, reach out to contact@ekbia.com.. Because your BIA is controlled by you and your business neighbours, it will reflect your priorities.

If you operate a commercial property or business within the East Kamloops BIA boundary, you’re automatically a member. The BIA levy is collected through your property taxes and reinvested directly back into the area.

We cover Valleyview, Dallas and Campbell Creek. You can find a map here. We do not cover Barnhardtvale or Juniper, but businesses from those areas may join as affiliate members.

Attend events. Sign up to our newsletter. Join a committee. Share your ideas. Participate in promotions. Give us your feedback. The BIA works best when members help shape its direction.

Funds are reinvested directly into East Kamloops through marketing campaigns, events, safety initiatives, advocacy work, and area improvements. Financial reporting is presented annually to members at our AGM.

The BIA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of local business and property owners. The Board sets priorities and ensures accountability.
